Fewer lanes of traffic
Most of the built environment is dedicated to cars. This puts our most vulnerable road users in a dangerous position.
Traffic calming
Small design changes for our streets can go a long way to reducing speeds and ultimately saving lives. Adding curb extensions, protected bike lanes, medians, etc all help.
More car free spaces
Visit the Newark Ave pedestrian plaza and try to picture that as a two way street. It feels impossible. Let’s identify more areas in JC that can be car free.
